About the Artists
We represent over 40 established and up and coming artists, the artists listed are but just a few.
Daniel Baradza
David Gopito was born in Mutare, Zimbabwe in 1946. He is married and has two boys and two girls and currently resides in Chitungwiza. He attended St. Webecks School and left after completing standard six. After leaving school he began helping his brother who is a wood and stone carver in Mutare. In 1970 he went to Victoria Falls and joined the Forrest Craft Village. He then joined the Cannon Patterson Craft Centre where he currently still works. David prefers to sculpt in harder stones such as verdite and golden serpentine. His ambition is to become a renowned sculptor.
Eddie Masaya was born in 1960 in the mountainous Nyanga district. He is the cousin of acclaimed First Generation sculptor, Moses Masaya, and was introduced to the work by him. He spent two years working along side his cousin and then joined Brighton Sango (sculptor), in Guruve. Here Eddie was able to find his own expression. He is deeply fascinated by its natural qualities, and is guided by structural textures, flaws and resistance within each new piece. His work possesses a strange, ghostly quality which links him to the generation of artists which preceded him. Masaya's sculpture has been exhibited internationally since the mid-Eighties and he continues to present individual strength and direction.
